The journey of a lifetime begins in Delhi and takes you to Sikkim and onto Bhutan over 13 days.
First you will explore and retreat in Sikkim, India at a secluded, organic 100-acre heritage farm where even the cows wear sacred relics. Where you have the opportunity for six days to truly connect to nature and the incredibly powerful Himalayan mountain energy.
Here is where you get to take a much-needed break from your daily life to nourish yourself and learn from the loving and caring hosts who share and uphold sacred traditions, immersed in Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda, the sister sciences that activate your inner healing and bring you back to balance.
Emerging from the natural cocoon of our retreat ready to spread your wings you are flown to the Kingdom of Bhutan for the next part of your journey. Over seven days you will travel from Paro to Thimphu and onto Punakha, to explore and discover the hidden treasures of this ancient Buddhist culture.
Meditate in sacred locations with local monks, to the sound of distant prayer wheels. Trek to the Tigers Nest Monastery and sacred Dzongs and Stupas and imagine floating downriver on a raft as you take in the natural beauty that is synonymous with Bhutan.
Everything in Bhutan is coded with a purity like no other place on earth, the people will melt your heart, the food is fresh, home grown and delicious. There is a welcome awaiting you that you cannot find anywhere else, as tourists are essential for Bhutan and the industry is carefully protected, making it a safe and welcoming destination.

This is a wonderful opportunity to travel to Sikkim, India and The Kingdom of Bhutan with six nights in each country. Sikkim was a former kingdom up to 1975, often referred to as the Switzerland of India while Bhutan is the last great Himalayan kingdom, both are shrouded in mystery and magic, with a traditional Buddhist culture.
From Delhi, we fly to Bagdogra in West Bengal, and travel on by road to the North Eastern state of India, Sikkim. Often referred to as the hidden jewel of India, here you will settle into a relaxing rejuvenating retreat at the Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse. Hosting our Wellness Retreats at Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse in the past has always been a highlight for us.
It is a transformational experience for our guests who are immersed in Yoga, Pranayamana, Meditation, and Ayurveda, bringing balance back to your Mind, Body and Spirit.
After five nights in Sikkim we fly from Bagdogra, India to Paro International Airport, Bhutan where our sacred pilgrimage through the Kingdom of Bhutan begins. Located in the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan is bordered by Tibet in the north, the Sikkim state of India and the Chumbi Valley of Tibet in the West, the Arunachal Pradesh state of India in the East, and the states of Assam and West Bengal in the South.
17th March – Delhi - Arrival in India, group meet and greet
Our journey begins in New Delhi. Please arrange your travel to arrive at Delhi International Airport on the 17th March 2021 ideally by 2 pm. We arrange your transfer to our hotel giving you time to rest and recover after your journey to India. Later in the evening we’ll gather for a meet and greet reception followed by a delicious meal and early night.
18th March – Fly from Delhi to Bagdogra, onward travel to Bikthang, Sikkim
Our journey to Sikkim begins. After landing in Bagdogra (IXB) you can take in the scenery as we travel to our secluded location in West Sikkim at the foothills of the Himalayas traveling by luxury transport vehicles. The Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse is an incredibly special venue where we return to every time we travel to Sikkim. The warm, genuine hospitality of the family who live and work here is truly unique. They welcome and nourish all of our guests to relax and truly unwind and retreat on the lush 100-acre organic farm with its serene and calming climate, perfect for nature lovers. We spend 5 glorious days on retreat here.
19th March – Biksthang, West Sikkim
The farmhouse directly faces mount Ghangchhen-mZho-Nga (Khangchendzogna), the guardian deity of Sikkim, which is the repository of five treasures, symbolized by the five peaks of Mt Khangchendzogna, Mt. Gabur Gangtsen (Kabru), Mt. Pandim, Mt. Narsing and Mt. Simvo. There are nine Suites nestled across the property, each has a spacious living room and a bedroom that opens to a private garden with its own unique features and views such as a generous cantilevered balcony and a private lawn. We find our guests can really take plenty of time here to retreat in nature and rejuvenate on a deep level surrounded by the mountains. It is an ideal location to deepen your meditation practice, explore the benefits of yoga, and contemplate your dharma or purpose in life with the support of our experienced Chopra Certified Teachers.
20th of March – Biksthang, West Sikkim
We like to keep the schedule flexible and find our groups settle easily into a simple daily routine beginning with sunrise meditation, gentle yoga and a delicious breakfast. We keep everyone’s options open and, in the afternoons, there are lots of opportunities to trek to Lheuntse Monastery and get a panoramic view of the mountain range. On a clear day you can enjoy a 360*view from the climb uphill. We also do alternative treks downhill from the farmhouse through the village of Tsochen / Chuchen to the intriguing and sacred Rahuney Cave where Guru Padmasambhava is known to have meditated in the 8th Century.
21st March – Biksthang, West Sikkim
Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse has a unique goal to preserve the acres of lush green farmlands still untouched by human habitation and to nurture you in this tiny haven away from the rest of the world. Often our guests simply choose to stay around the farm – exploring or simply relaxing, surrendering to nature, the breath-taking view, the serenity, solitude and learning that sometimes the most productive thing to do is relax. On these days you can take it easy and guests are free to use the gym, pool and traditional spa facilities available. There is an age old Traditional ‘Menchu’ Spa which is a hot stone bath created with local medicinal herbs gathered at dawn using a secret ancient recipe that is both healing and rejuvenating. The local “fire keeper” lights a bonfire to heat the stones that heat the water, this is a truly unique opportunity to experience this ancient tradition that comes highly recommended by our previous guests.
22nd March – Depart from Biksthang, Sikkim to Siliguri, West Bengal
After our final sunrise meditation and yoga in Biksthang, we still enjoy half the day in this pristine, natural environment and take a last breath-taking view of Mt. Khangchendzogna before we leave for Siliguri, West Bengal in the afternoon.
23rd March – Fly from Bagdogra to Paro, onward travel to Thimphu, Bhutan
After breakfast, we transfer to Bagdogra airport (IXB) for our flight to Paro International Airport, Bhutan. From there the group will travel onward to Thimphu the capital of Bhutan (about an hour/ 63 km). We will spend the afternoon in Thimphu exploring and witnessing a game of Archery (national sport of Bhutan), having plenty of time to stroll and shop in town. We will regroup in the early evening for a group meditation followed by dinner.
24th March – Thimphu - Punakha - Wangdue (3 nights)
We will begin our day with gentle yoga and morning meditation, before breakfast. Traveling on to Punakha / Wangdi valley. The drive will take us via the Dochula Pass (3150mt). At the Pass are the 108 Druk Wangyal Stupas and the Druk Wangyal Monastery with a stunning view of the surrounding Himalayas. In the afternoon En-route to Punakha Valley, we take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a special Monastery for fertility. After checking in to our hotel you can treat yourself and end the day with a Hot Stone Bath and a luxurious massage. Delicious local fare will be served here at dinner after our evening group meditation. We stay here for 3 nights.
25th March – Punakha – Phobjikha Valley – Punakha
After breakfast we depart early and drive to Phobjikha Valley for exploring and hiking the beautiful nature of Bhutan (~65km). Phobjikha Valley is soothing your soul walking through the beautiful valley and visit the sacred Gangtey Monastery. Later drive back to Punakha.
26th March – Punakha
Starting our day with morning meditation followed by gentle yoga on the terrace, we leave after breakfast and take a short drive north of Punakha Valley and hike (about an hour and half round-trip hike) to the beautiful Khamsum Yueley Namgyel Stupa, which was commissioned by the Queen- mother as a gift to the present Fifth King. As we return to the footbridge where we began our trail there is an option to climb aboard a dinghy and experience river-rafting down the river taking in the numerous species of birds and plants along the way (about 2 hrs). In the afternoon we visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong - a fortress - built in 1637. Evening meditation and optional massage treatment at the hotel.
27th March – Depart Punakha for Paro (2 nights)
Welcoming the day with morning meditation and gentle yoga on the terrace. Check out and depart to travel on to Paro, arriving in time for lunch at Paro town. After lunch we take a short hike from the museum to the monastery with the opportunity to meditate at the monastery. Check into our hotel here for 2 nights and enjoy a delicious dinner.
28th of March – Paro
A renowned highlight of Bhutan is the trek to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. You choose if you prefer to hike or take part on a horse to the spectacular, Tiger`s Nest Monastery, situated on a cliff 800mt. above Paro Valley. We will have time to meditate and meet some of the monks living there, light butter lamps and make offerings. We will have lunch at the halfway mark as we make our descent, this is such an unforgettable experience that you will cherish for years to come. In the afternoon we may visit a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse, where there is also an option to enjoy a traditional Bhutanese Hot Stone Bath, local butter tea and spirits. Evening group meditation will take place in their family shrine room which is a unique opportunity as you get to meet and chat to our host Thinley and her lovely family, discovering more about authentic Bhutanese culture and way of life.
29th of March – Paro to Delhi
After our final morning meditation we check out and transfer to depart for our flight from Paro to Delhi for the onward connections in Delhi. We can arrange an extra night’s accommodation as required in Delhi depending on your flight times and onward journey. Estimated arrival time to Delhi TBC.
